Fred Fenner

Frederick George Fenner of Listowel, and formerly of Paisley and Bothwell, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 5, 2026, in his 68th year.

Brother of Margie Fenner & Roger Heinbein of Listowel.  Loved by his Aunt Dorothy Hall and the late Bill of Ottawa, by his cousins Alex (Natalie), and Kelley (Peter), and by their families.  Remembered also by Roger’s brothers, sisters, and their families including his nephew Tyler Heibein (Bailee), his children Weston, Hudson, and Isla, by his niece Haillie Heibein (Travis), and by many friends.

Son of the late John & Dorothy Fenner and predeceased also by his grandparents George & Iva Fenner.

Fred was born on March 17, 1959 in London, Ontario.  He was raised on a beef/cash crop farm.  At the age of 18, he purchased his first farm, a 4-wheel drive white tractor, and implements.  He became a full-time farmer.

In 1982, the farms near Bothwell were sold and 650 acres were purchased in Bruce County, near Paisley.  Fred took great pride in growing excellent crops.  In 1997, he sold that property and moved closer to Port

Elgin on a beef cow and grain farm, while driving truck full-time.

Fred began trucking in 1989.  He loved trucking, agriculture, hockey, and baseball.  He saw much of the United States, as well as Canada from Montreal to Vancouver.  On the road, he made many friends and was dedicated to getting the loads to their destination on time.

Many days, he cared more about the job than himself.  He was a rare find; a hardworker no matter the circumstances.  Fred was simply an all around really good guy.  He made sure to take care of business and was well-liked and respected by his peers and customers who became friends.  He will be missed.

Fred has received his final dispatch and can rest easy now.

A Celebration of Fred’s life will be held at the Listowel Agricultural Society on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with words of remembrance at 2:00 p.m.

Spring interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Elma Township.

Memorial donations to Make-A-Wish Canada, or Listowel Memorial Hospital would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
