Donna Patterson of Meaford passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Brightshores- Meaford Hospital on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the age of 85.
Born in Listowel on July 3,1941, a daughter of the late James and Muriel (nee Buchanan) Petrie.
She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Jim Patterson. She was the kindhearted mother of Ken Patterson and Dave Patterson (Jodie) and proud Grandma of Connor.
Donna will be lovingly remembered by her sister Maureen Houston, brother Bob Petrie, and was predeceased by brothers Ken and Bill Petrie. She will be fondly remembered by sister-in-law Elizabeth Austin (Bill), the extended Patterson family and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Donna met Jim at the Listowel Highschool when she was just 14 years old. They were married at the Donegal United Church, October 7, 1961.
The couple initially moved to Toronto for a brief time, then to Maple, Ontario. Their sons Ken and Dave were born in 1963 and 1965 respectively. They lived in Rexdale before moving to Mono Township in 1977, and finally to Meaford in 2000.
Donna spent much of her career in medical administration in both Rexdale and Meaford, she also worked with the family business, Cedarport Window and Door Centre Inc., for many years and in new home sales in Orangeville. She was well liked and respected, Donna established special relationships with people no matter where she was working; people knew she liked them by her demeanor and genuine interest in them.
She also enjoyed many years at the cottage with friends and family, leaving lifelong memories of the best of times.

Donna will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held on Friday, September 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Meaford Hall in The Galleries. Tributes will be shared at 2 o’clock. Family and friends are welcome to gather to share memories and refreshments.
