It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Lambertus, of Calgary on July 28, 2026 at the age of 88. She was born on the family farm near Dunkeld in Brant Township to Howard and Dorothy (Letzgus) Chesney on September 13, 1937
Betty is lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Shawna
Lambertus; of Sundre, Alberta and her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Webber and Kelly Jones of Calgary. She will be deeply missed by her three grandchildren, Anita Webber (Steven), Kayla Grudeski (Chris), and Tania Jones; and her two cherished great-grandsons, Blake and Ty.
Betty is survived by her siblings Bob & Rosanne Chesney, Gerry & Marion Chesney, Marlene & Willard Teed, Jackie & Clare Poechman, Nadine & Alan Anstett and Tom & Jenny Chesney as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Lambertus (2018) and their son, Eddie (1971); her parents, Howard and Dorothy Chesney; and her siblings, Ron Chesney, Donalda Bester, Jim Chesney, and three infant brother and sisters. She was also predeceased by her in laws Gordon and Adelaide Lambertus, Father John Lambertus and Mary & Gerry Koller.
Betty’s funeral was held in Calgary on August 6. At her request, her body was cremated and interment will be held at a later date when she will join her husband Robert and son Eddie in Walkerton Calvary cemetery.
Betty’s presence will be deeply missed but the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love strength and devotion to her family.
