Bernice Stemmler

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg, Bernice was born 91 years ago in Hesson, Ontario, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Rosetta (Klein) Kocher.

Cherished and devoted mother of Judith Hahn-Yutzi (Del), Bruce Stemmler (Brenda), Francis Stemmler (Pamela), Richard Stemmler and Janette Hart (Daryl). Proud grandmother of Cory (Gabby), Chris (DJ), Theresa (Brian), Tammy (Steve), Joe (Joanie), Jerry, Lori (Stewart), Jeremie, Jason, Scott (Audrey), Sarah, Carmenie, Kyla, Joel, Kimberly (Jason), Timothy (Tiffany), James and great-grandmother of 27. Bernice is survived by her sisters and brothers Patricia, Marjorie, Orville (Sharon), Douglas (Judy), Gary (Cheryl), son-in-law Wayne Wilkinson, sisters-in-law Shirley and Marion, and by her many nieces and nephews. Bernice was the last remaining family member of her beloved husbands family.

Predeceased and reunited with her beloved husband Frederick Stemmler, children Dianne Wilkinson, Dennis Stemmler, Raymond Stemmler, son-in-law Lloyd Hahn, daughter-in-law Cheryl Stemmler, brothers and sisters, Sally (Ernie), Joseph (Bernice), Harold, Floyd, Lawrence (Lillian), Clayton (Shirley), Edward, Shirley (Jerome), and Ronald.

Bernice had a great love for farming and John Deere tractors, loved to dance, bake and clean. She was very proud of her children and family and enjoyed all the time spent with them.

Relatives and friends were invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Thursday, December 23, 2021, from 10 – 11 a.m. A Funeral service followed in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Bernice was laid to rest with her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hesson. The family would like to thank the medical staff, PSW’s and other staff members for the excellent care they provided for our Mother each day during her stay at Carescent Care in Listowel and Nithview Community in New Hamburg. You all made Mom feel she was at home. This was very important to her and her family.
