The Central Perth U15 LL Predators were in tough against a high-scoring Wingham squad on Dec. 16 at the Perth East Recreation Complex, dropping a 7-2 decision to the visitors.

The Listowel District Secondary School senior boys’ basketball team utilized home court advantage to the fullest on Dec. 14, earning a 54-42 win over the St. Marys Salukis  for its first victory of the 2022-23 Huron-Perth Athletic Association winter campaign.

The Walkerton Capitals U11 OWHL squad had a successful tournament Dec. 9-11 in Mount Forest at the Megan Byers Memorial Tournament. No games are scheduled for the Walkerton Capitals until Friday, Dec. 23, when they host Mitchell for a 7:30 p.m. game. After that, the Caps don’t play until after Christmas, when they visit Hanover on Friday, Dec. 30 for an 8 p.m. game.

Avon Maitland’s North Region Intermediate Volleyball Tournament was hosted by North Perth Westfield Elementary School on Dec. 7, with five area schools taking part. The F.E. Madill Grade 8 team won the girls’ division, while Howick won the boys’ bracket.
