With 2026 being a municipal election year in Ontario, council here received a report at its Feb. 24 meeting from CAO/Clerk Caitlin Gillis regarding the Restricted Acts of Council (Lame Duck) Delegation of Authority bylaw.

A witness to the incident that resulted in Deputy Reeve Kevin Falconer being seriously injured following a North Huron Council meeting on Feb. 17 has provided his account to Midwestern Newspapers, suggesting Falconer may have been attacked.
