Provincial announcement influences SVCA draft budget
FORMOSA - Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority’s (SVCA) board of directors passed the 2026 draft budget, with only a 1.57 per cent increase to the municipal apportionment (levy). This was accomplished by using reserves, amid concerns about what will happen to the reserves with regionalization.

County council passes budget with 4.37% increase
WALKERTON - A last minute decision on Nov. 20 to cut three positions from the list of five proposed by staff resulted in a reduction in the county’s proposed 2026 budget increase, from 4.77 per cent to 4.37 per cent.
