The Listowel Junior Cyclones capped a productive October by shutting out the Caledon Bombers in GOJHL Midwestern Conference action on Sunday afternoon at the Kerr Complex.

The 2022-23 curling season is underway, with a full slate of games taking place during the Wednesday night open league at the Listowel Curling Club on Oct. 26.

For much of Friday night’s game against the Mount Forest Patriots, it looked as if the Capitals might succeed in breaking the visiting team’s winning streak. However, success is still evading the Caps, who lost 4-3.

The LDSS senior boys’ record dropped to 2-4 in Huron-Perth volleyball action on Oct. 20, after suffering a pair of home losses to Stratford DSS and Central Huron. The Lightning came up short in straight sets to Central Huron (25-21, 25-20), before falling in three to Stratford (22-25, 25-11, 25-8).

Things were looking bleak for the Listowel Cyclones on Friday night, down 3-0 at the midway point of their GOJHL matchup with the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins. But hockey is a game of momentum, and any game can turn on a dime.
