It was a true group effort for the Listowel Legionnaires in their final Friday night home game of the 2023 Midwestern Ontario Senior Baseball League on July 21, with the local squad coming away with a lopsided 11-1 victory over the visiting Mitchell Junior Astros.

North Huron council exempted the Wingham Ironmen from the new ice in/out policy after the hockey club met the requirements set out in the policy to book and pay for a minimum of 35 hours of ice time per week.

The Provincial Junior Hockey League community continues to mourn the tragic passing of one of its own this week, after standout Wingham Ironmen defenseman Turner McKenzie was killed in a single-vehicle collision on July 15.

With a dedicated group of hockey personnel, a charged up executive and many local businesses for sponsors, Wingham was granted a franchise in the Ontario Hockey League in 1973.
