The Listowel U6 Black team played three games this past weekend in Palmerston at the annual Minto Jamboree.

This past weekend, the Wingham Warriors curling team traveled to Stroud, Ont. for the Elementary School Curling Provincials. 

Many skaters performed at the Skate Wallace Carnival at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex in Listowel on Saturday, March 2.

The Fergus Whalers got hot at the right time down the stretch of the 2023-24 PJHL regular season, and that heater evidently carried into the upstart club’s first round playoff matchup with the Walkerton Capitals.

Following another strong Huron-Perth Athletics basketball campaign this past winter, the Listowel District Secondary School senior boys’ squad captured the bronze medal at the WOSSAA ‘AA’ regional championships on Feb. 22 in London.  

The Ontario Masters Provincials in Olympic Lifting was held in St. Thomas on Feb. 24, and local athletes Stephanie Brooks, Karla Daviau and Angie Alexander all came home with medals.

U11 hockey teams from across the region and beyond will once again take centre stage – rather, centre ice – in North Perth this weekend, as the annual Gord Hymers Tournament is set to roll March 8-10.

The Upper Maitland Mustangs U9 HL squad participated in the recent Barrie Sharks Winter Classic Tournament where the girls won every game up until the championship finale, finishing as silver medalists. 

LISTOWEL – The U15 Upper Maitland Mustangs and Central Perth Predators clashed in OWHA playdowns on Feb. 22 at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex in Listowel.

The Listowel Cyclones’ playoff tuneup continued late last week with another pair of decisive victories as the 2023-24 GOJHL regular season continues to march towards its conclusion.
