The Walkerton Hawks continue to improve, coming together as a team, but victory stayed out of reach this past weekend as hometown fans saw their Hawks take on Mount Forest on Friday evening and Mitchell on Sunday. The first game ended in a 6-4 loss, and the second in a 6-3 loss.

The Wingham Ironmen split the weekend with a 5-2 win over the Goderich Flyers, and a 3-0 loss against the Mitchell Hawks. 

Following a third consecutive outing that generated minimal scoring chances on Friday night at home, the Listowel Junior Cyclones were able to rekindle their offense with a decisive road victory over the Brantford Bandits on Saturday, Oct. 23.

LDSS forward Sadie Long battles a Stratford defender during their Huron-Perth varsity field hockey matchup on Oct. 13 in Listowel. Long was a key contributor in LDSS’s 8-0 rout of Stratford (0-4), as the Lightning (1-3) picked up their first victory of the 2021 fall season.
