SOUTH HURON – The Central Perth U18 Girls Rep squad got hot at the right time last weekend, winning the Pink on the Rink Tournament held in Exeter and Zurich.
After dropping the first two games of the tournament on Dec. 3, Central Perth went on to win its next four matchups while outscoring opponents 16-3 en route to the championship. The U18 Rep Girls lost to Lambeth 2-1 and Lucan 3-2 on Friday, before handling Saugeen Shores 6-1 and Lambton 3-1 on Saturday.
Advancing to the tournament semifinal Sunday morning, Central Perth earned a measure of revenge against Lambeth, topping the Lancers 5-1. The U18 Rep Girls then blanked host South Huron 2-0 in the tournament finale late Sunday afternoon in Exeter.
Including tournament and exhibition play, the U18 Rep Girls have played to a 10-6-1 record so far during the 2021-22 campaign.
