HOWICK - For the purpose of implementing a façade program, Howick Council has designated the entire township as a community improvement project area.

HOWICK - The fire department here has been experiencing radio communication issues – both internally and externally – for some time, according to Fire Chief Josh Kestner.

STRATFORD - The Huron Perth Public Health Board of Health was presented with a report from Director of Community and Family Health Tanya Sangster at its April 10 meeting regarding food insecurity.

HOWICK - Council here decided at its April 21 meeting to defer a recommendation brought by their public works manager regarding entering into a solid waste service agreement with Waste Management.

HOWICK - In preparation for the 2026 municipal election, Howick’s CAO/Clerk Caitlin Gillis reported she has been reviewing applicable bylaws and policies that are required to be reviewed and updated prior to the beginning of nomination period.

Council will not be proceeding with the development of a municipal bylaw or policy to permit “bring your own alcohol” at outdoor public events within the township at this time.

STRATFORD - Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) recently shared in a news release that the HPPH Listowel Site will be moving to a new location at the Fisher Family Primary Care Centre in Listowel as of May 19.

HOWICK - Huron County Planner Sarah Kurtz brought back a report to council regarding the 2026 housekeeping amendment to the Howick zoning bylaw at its April 7 meeting.

HOWICK - Aird and Berlis LLP in Toronto has been appointed as the integrity commissioner for the township here for a five year term beginning March 1, 2026 and ending on March 31, 2031.

HOWICK - At council’s April 7 meeting, Manager of Recreation and Facilities Brady Ropp presented three reports.

The medical Officer of Health told the HPPH Board of Health on April 10 the respiratory illness season is winding down for Huron and Perth.

LISTOWEL - The Listowel Wingham Hospital Association (LWHA) is in the process of developing an elastomeric pump program at the Listowel Memorial Hospital for patients who require ongoing IV medications.

LISTOWEL - Owner of New Horizons Rehabilitation here, June Williamson B.Sc. (P.T.), is passing the reins of her business over to Dr. Alex Wilson of Fortitude Performance and Rehab, based out of LivFit.
