It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Gerard Kirvan. Guy passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, March 20, 2022, with his family at his side. Guy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Eileen. Proud father of Linda (Michael), Robert (Natalie), and Dan (Christine), Susan (Doug), Jayne (Greg), and Jeff (Darcy). Grandfather to Sidney, Abby, Megan, Emma, Hazel, Florence, Katie, Brenden, Olivia, Kyle, Kaelan, Coulter, Chelsea, Cassidy, and Cameryn. Guy is survived by his sister Maureen, and brothers Mark and Myles (Shailendra Verma), by sisters in-law Marie Kirvan, Mary Kirvan, Marian McSwigan, and Gail Nicholson, and many nieces and nephews. Guy was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Francis Kirvan and Helen (Walsh) Kirvan, his brothers Frederick and Kevin, sister Kathleen, sister in-law Dawn Kirvan, brothers in-law George Sehl, Pat and Paul Nicholson, as well as Anna Bergant. Guy was a graduate of St. Mary’s University, Halifax, and the University of Minnesota before building a career as a Hospital Administrator in both Walkerton and Uxbridge, Ontario. An enthusiastic runner, avid golfer, and world traveler. Guy will be missed by many. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St., Hart Chapel, Guelph.
Visitation was on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 9-10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass was held at the Basilica of Our Lady on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11 a.m.
Interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Royal City Mission, 50 Quebec St., Guelph would be appreciated by the family.
