WINGHAM – Some patrols early this morning in Wingham has resulted in police arresting and charging a wanted man.
At 3:16 a.m. on Dec. 12 a Huron County OPP officer spotted a wanted man sleeping at the Wingham Laundromat on Josephine Street. Police say officers made contact with the man and placed him under arrest for an outstanding bench warrant.
According to police, a search incident to arrest revealed the accused to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, break-in tools and stolen property consisting of ignition keys, jewellery and coins.
The accused, 27-year-old Sunday Salter of South Bruce, has been charged possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments and possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine.
He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 20, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
