Two contest for Howick-Turnberry Fall Fair Ambassador crown

HOWICK – The Howick-Turnberry Fall Fair Ambassador competition will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Howick Community Centre.

Sydonie Penkauskas is the 20-year-old daughter of Patricia and Ric Penkauskas. She is sponsored by J.E.M. Polydoor of Fordwich. Sydonie works full-time at Marmeadow Dairy farm. She wishes to own a dairy farm in the future. Sydonie loves hiking and playing volleyball.

Abigail Peel is the 17-year-old daughter of Trevor and Diana Binotto Peel. She is sponsored by Mental Health Matters Wingham. Abigail attends F.E.Madill Secondary School in Wingham. She works as a lifeguard and swim instructor as well as helping on the family farm. Abigail is also a goalie for the Huron Bruce Blizzards hockey team. She also enjoys soccer, basketball, and cross-country running.

Tickets for a full course dinner consisting of roast beef, potatoes, vegetables, dessert, and beverages are available for purchase. The cost is $20 and this also includes admission into the ambassador competition. The Howick-Turnberry Fall Fair is set for Sept. 23, 24 with the theme of ‘Pride in Our Past; Faith in Our Future.’
