GREY-BRUCE – After seeing a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the region last week, the Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) is reporting less than five new cases for the third straight day.

GBHU reported three new cases today – one in Kincardine and two in Southgate. Yesterday (Nov. 23) a total of three cases were reported, with five being reported on Sunday.

There are currently 47 active cases in the region.

A total of 286 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the region since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 224 are considered recovered. GBHU reports there are three possible positive cases awaiting confirmation. These cases, if positive, will be added to the total.

There are also four active probable cases – cases that are not lab confirmed but are high-risk contacts of an active case, as well as symptomatic.

Fortunately, there is only one confirmed case currently hospitalized in the region.
