SOUTH BRUCE – A two vehicle, head-on crash north of Mildmay on Feb. 18 has claimed the life of a Teeswater man.
Officers from the South Bruce OPP detachment, with the assistance of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team continue to investigate a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred just after 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Feb. 18.
South Bruce OPP, the South Bruce Fire Department and Bruce County Paramedic Services responded to the crash scene on Highway 9 just south of Concession Road 12 East.
Upon arriving at the scene, emergency personnel found two vehicles – a transport truck and a compact car – were involved in the crash.
Police say that their initial investigation has determined that the car was travelling northbound on Highway 9 when, for unknown reasons, the driver crossed the centre line into the path of the transport truck travelling southbound, resulting in a head-on collision.
The driver of the car, 75-year-old Kenneth Bruce MacDonald of Teeswater, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled to take place on Feb. 19.
The driver of the transport truck was uninjured.
