An estimated crowd of 300 turned out on June 25 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Carlsruhe – one of the area’s loveliest churches, as well as one of the oldest. Archbishop Peter Hundt, who has strong local roots, celebrated mass, which was followed by an afternoon garden party, in the shade of the magnificent oak tree planted by the church’s founder.
