Single-vehicle crash claims life of Brockton man

BROCKTON – A single-vehicle crash on Sunday night has claimed the life of a Brockton man.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 15, South Bruce OPP received a report about the crash along Sideroad 5. Police responded with members of the Walkerton Fire Department and the Bruce County Paramedic Service.

Police say a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Firefighters extricated the driver, who was taken to a trauma centre by Ornge Air Ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police have identified him as Brayden Berberich, 28, of Brockton.

The road was closed for most of the night while the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team attended and assisted with the investigation.
