Simcoe resident charged in Huron County internet child luring case

HURON COUNTY – The Huron County OPP have arrested and charged a Simcoe resident with multiple sex-related offences following an internet luring investigation.

In February of 2020, the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Huron OPP Crime Unit began their investigation after receiving information about a possible internet child luring case.

Police were able to determine that the accused engaged in sexually explicit online communications with a 15-year-old victim. An in-person meet was later arranged. Police say that during this meet, the accused sexually assaulted the victim.

The accused, 37-year-old Jordan Cobb from Simor, has been charged with luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, invitation to sexual touching – person under 16 years of age, sexual assault, and sexual interference

Cobb remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for Friday (May 29) at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
