Rotary Club of Walkerton presents grant to Victoria Jubilee Hall project

WALKERTON – Last year, tarps went up as work was undertaken on Victoria Jubilee Hall’s main (east) entrance, thanks to a grant from the local Rotary Club.

The concrete porch deck and attached building brick were subject to winter structural water damage, mainly through ice damming and melting.

To prevent further damage, a durable waterproofing coating called Rhino Liner was sprayed on. People might be more familiar with the product as a spray-on coating for truck beds.

The coating had to be professionally applied to the cement porch deck and attached brickwork.

The Rotary Club grant covered the entire $6,824 cost of the project.

Additional work is planned for the main entrance area. The VJH team is seeking funding to assist with the project.

There is always something to be done to ensure the venerable but elegant building continues to be a centre for cultural activity, and an award-winning architectural jewel to grace the community.
