PROVINCIAL ELECTION 2022: Huron-Bruce Q&A

Midwestern Newspapers reached out to the five candidates who had filed their paperwork for the provincial election by May 6.

Candidates Ron Stephens (Independent), Bruce Eisen (Ontario Alliance) and Gerrie Huenenmoerder (Ontarip Party) had not filed their paperwork by this date, and are not included in this feature.

Matt Kennedy, the New Blue Party of Ontario’s candidate for Huron-Bruce, was contacted but did not respond to our request to participate in this Q&A.

We asked the candidates the same seven questions, focusing on housing, health care, agricultural land and economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The answers from the four candidates who participated can be found below, listed in alphabetical order by last name:

Shelley Blackmore, Liberal Party of Ontario

Laurie Hazzard, Ontario NDP

Lisa Thompson, Ontario Progressive Conservative Party

Matthew Van Ankum, Green Party of Ontario
