LISTOWEL – The Perth County OPP have made an arrest in two thefts of alcohol from a local business.
The thefts occurred on May 12 and May 17 at a store on Mitchell Road South in Listowel.
The arrest was made on the afternoon of May 17 when police found the suspect on Main Street West. The accused was already under investigation for the May 12 theft as police say he was shown on video surveillance stealing a bottle of alcohol that day.
Charged is 28-year-old David Ernest of North Perth. He has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
Ernest was also arrested on May 15 for a separate incident where he allegedly damaged a vehicle with a piece of wood.
