Police investigating fatal crash in former Greenock Township

GREENOCK TOWNSHIP – Police say a single-vehicle crash on April 30 in the former Greenock Township has claimed one life.

According to a release from South Bruce OPP, the crash took place on April 30 along Concession 2. Police, the Walkerton Fire Department and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash around 4:37 p.m. that day.

Police say personnel responded “to find that a pickup truck had left the roadway and come to rest in the Teeswater River.”

The deceased was identified by police as Garrett Rickert, 23, of Waterloo Region. Rickert was pronounced deceased at the scene.

South Bruce OPP say the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team are assisting with the investigation.
