Police investigate report of threats at local school

BROCKTON – On Nov. 17 at 3:08 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a call regarding threats made at a school in the Municipality of Brockton. Officers responded and determined the threat wasn’t specific in nature.

Police and members of the South Bruce OPP Major Crime Unit worked in cooperation with school administration to thoroughly investigate the threat and ensure the safety of all students and staff.

South Bruce OPP increased police presence at the school to reassure the staff, students and parents, and to ensure there was minimal interruption to students’ education.

As a result of the police investigation, the threat was deemed to be unsubstantiated.

Police say this is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to public safety.
