CULROSS TOWNSHIP – Police have laid charges against a Brockton resident concerning a break-in at a property on Bruce Road 6 in Culross Township.
South Bruce OPP were called to the property at 10:14 a.m. on May 21. Police say they arrived at the property to find that someone wearing a backpack had run into the neighbour’s cornfield.
Police called in members of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team and an OPP Canine Unit to assist in searching the cornfield. Police were able to locate the suspect, who was arrested without incident.
The accused, 28-year-old Francis Reinhart from the Municipality of Brockton, has been charged with two counts of break and enter, unlawfully in a dwelling house, assault, three counts of mischief, theft, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Reinhart was held in custody pending the result of a bail hearing scheduled for May 22.
