Plenty of activities at Walkerton library in June

WALKERTON – Story Time returns in-person at the Walkerton library every Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. Join library staff for this fun preschool program where we will help build early literacy skills with your child by reading, singing, and playing together, suitable for ages 0 – 4.

June is Seniors Month and on Friday June 3 at 11 a.m. the library is offering a small group session on phone and tablet basics, which will provide the building blocks to digital learning. Bring your phone and or tablet and register in advance as space is limited.

Kids Create is held every first Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. at the Walkerton Branch and on Tuesday, June 14 and 28 at 4 p.m. at the Cargill Branch. The materials will be set out for you to get creative and each session we will have a different project for you to make.

Walkerton Branch Movie Matinee, Thursday June 9, at 2 p.m. The Eyes of Tammy Faye staring 2022 Oscar Best Actress winner Jessica Chastine, takes an intimate look at the extraordinary rise, fall and redemption of televangelist Tammy Fay Bakker.

The Bruce County Public Library will be holding a TD Summer Reading Club Kick-off event at the Sauble Beach Branch on Saturday. June 25, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Join us for a huge medieval-themed kick-off party for this year’s summer reading club! Wild Birds of Ontario, Knights in the Classroom, inflatable axe-throwing, alpacas, storytelling, special guests, and tons of activities fill out the day. Pick up your TD Summer Reading Club package and register in Beanstack for the program while you are there! Can’t make it to Sauble Beach? Stop by your local library branch to register and create some great medieval photo props!

Teen Book Box registration is open until June 20. Register under the ‘Events’ tab on the library website at http://library.brucecounty.on.ca. Each box contains a library book to read, a book to keep, snacks, activities and more! You must be 13 years or older to register for a Teen Box.
