Vida Halk, born on October 19, 1927, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at the age of 98. She lived a long, meaningful life filled with warmth, humour, and the simple joys she shared so generously with those around her.
Vida was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerry Halk, with whom she shared many years of companionship, laughter, and devotion. She is survived by her daughter, Sandie Howie, her son‑in‑law, Craig Howie, and her cherished grandsons, Dillon and Austin, who were her greatest pride. Her family was the centre of her world, and she carried a deep, steady love for them throughout her life.
She found joy in her favourite card games—solo, cribbage, poker, and euchre—and she loved the fun and connection she found in online bingo. She never missed sending a thoughtful birthday card, each one a small reflection of her kindness and care. Vida will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering presence, and the quiet strength she brought to every moment.
Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the love she gave so freely.
