Carol Ann (Werth) Coghlin

Carol Ann (Werth) Coghlin of Fordwich and formerly of Atwood, passed away with her family by her side, at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in her 81st year.

Wife of Gerald Coghlin.  Mother of Andrea Anderson of Stratford, Matt & Jenn Coghlin of Owen Sound, and Mark & Brenda Coghlin of Ilderton.  Grandmother of Joel, Kennedy, Jarvis, Paxton, Sterling, and Myla.

Sister of Ross & Brenda Werth of Wingham, Linda & Klass Hiemstra of Toronto, David & Darlene Werth of Listowel, Donna & Wayne Smith of Kurtzville, Bev Werth & Kevin Hastie of Listowel, and Jan & Wayne Long of Hanover, and sister-in-law of Richard & Jeanette Harrow of Milverton, Wayne & Kathy Coghlin of Drumbo, Dennis & Linda Coghlin of Listowel, and Jeff Kritzer of Stratford.

Niece of Bob & Ruth Anne Werth of Kitchener, and Lyle & Bernice Johnson of Listowel. Loved and remembered also by her many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Kenneth & Arlie (Brown) Werth, brother John Werth, sister Laurie Kritzer, and son-in-law Dave Anderson.

Carol, born in 1946, was the beloved oldest of nine children and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Carol grew up in Listowel and raised her family in Atwood.  For the last 27 years, she has called Fordwich her home.

She shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Gerald, building a life centered on family, kindness, and dedication to those she loved most. Together they raised three children, and she is extremely proud of her six grandchildren.

Carol spent most of her working career in administrative roles where she was known for her organization, dependability, and caring nature.  In retirement, Carol was happy camping, reading, doing crosswords and going to the Thursday dances in Listowel. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A private family service was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel with interment to following in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Carol’s family celebrated her life on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Parkview Gardens (565 Elizabeth St. E., Listowel) from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m.

Memorial donations to CMHA or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
