North Perth to require proof of COVID vaccination for everyone 12 and older at rec facilities

Policy comes into effect Oct. 31, 2021

NORTH PERTH – In response to the letter of instruction issued by Huron Perth Public Health, effective at 12:01 a.m. Oct. 31, 2021, every person age 12 years and older wishing to access any of the municipally operated recreation facilities in North Perth will need to show proof of being fully vaccinated from COVID-19 (two doses plus 14 days) along with proof of ID (health card, driver’s licence, birth certificate, citizenship card, permanent resident card, passport, Indian Status Card/Indigenous Membership Card) upon entry.

This includes each person, age 12 years and older who attends the indoor area of a facility for the purpose of:

– actively participating in organized sports;

– coaching, officiating organized sports, or volunteering; and

– spectating at organized sports.

The following will be exempted from these requirements:

– individuals who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical exemptions will be permitted entry with a valid note from a registered physician or nurse practitioner only until recognized medical exemptions can be integrated as part of a digital vaccination certificate;

– emergency responders – police, firefighters or paramedics at the time that they are responding to an emergency.

To obtain a vaccination receipt, individuals can download or print their vaccine report from the provincial booking portal at covid19.ontariohealth.ca or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900. Individuals requiring assistance to print their vaccine report can contact the North Perth Public Library at 519-291-4621 or attend the branch of the North Perth Public Library in person.
