BRANT TOWNSHIP – A North Huron teenager has succumbed to their injuries after being pulled to the shore of the Saugeen River by members of the Hanover Fire Department on Saturday afternoon.
At 1:18 p.m., South Bruce OPP received a call that an ATV had entered the Saugeen River near Concession 2 in Brant Township. Police arrived at the location where the ATV was reported to have entered the river and found that the rider was unaccounted for.
South Bruce OPP were assisted by the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, an OPP Canine Unit and the Hanover Fire Department in searching for the missing rider.
The rider, a 15-year-old from North Huron, was located and brought to shore by the Hanover Fire Department. The teen was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they later passed away.
