North Huron resident facing slew of charges

41-year-old man faces 11 charges, including theft and uttering threats

BLYTH – A North Huron resident remains in custody following a police investigation last week.

On Oct. 13, Huron County OPP officers responded to a business in Blyth to investigate a vehicle theft.

According to a news release from the Huron County OPP, the accused went to the business and stole his vehicle from the impound facility. Police say the accused threatened the owner when confronted, then proceeded to drive away from the business.

Police say later in the day, officers observed the accused driving the stolen vehicle on Harriston Road. Police attempted to stop the drive, however he sped away from the scene.

The accused was later arrested on Oct. 15 by Guelph Police Service and custody was transferred over to Huron County OPP.

The accused, 41-year-old Adam Konkle from North Huron, has been charged with the following:

  • theft under $5,000;
  • uttering threats;
  • fraud under $5,000;
  • three counts of fail to comply with probation order;
  • flight from police officer;
  • two counts of drive while under suspension; and
  • two counts of operate a motor vehicle without insurance.

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for Oct. 20 in Goderich.
