North Huron driver charged following crash in Seaforth

SEAFORTH – A North Huron resident is facing an impaired operation charge following a rear-end crash in Seaforth last month.

On Nov. 24 at approximately 2:19 p.m. Huron County OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision located on Goderich Street East in Seaforth.

Police say a minivan crashed into the rear of an SUV. According to police, the driver of the minivan was displaying signs of impairment by way of a drug.

The driver was arrested and transported to the London OPP detachment for further testing.  A drug recognition expert completed an evaluation on the driver and the driver was deemed to be impaired by a drug.

The accused, 26-year-old Eric Sabourin from North Huron, has been charged with operation while impaired. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for Jan.10, 2022 in Goderich.
