New physician coming to Wingham

WINGHAM – The Wingham and Area Health Professionals Recruitment Committee, the North Perth-North Huron Family Health Team and the Wingham & District Hospital are delighted to announce Dr. Mahrous Mousa will be practicing family medicine at the Royal Oaks Health and Wellness Centre and Wingham & District Hospital beginning September 13.

Patients of Dr. Jim Shuffield, who retired earlier this spring, will be transitioned to Dr. Mousa’s care. Our community is grateful Shuffield’s eleven years of dedicated care to patients in our region. We wish Dr. Shuffield and his wife Laura all the best as they enjoy their new chapter.

Patients previously rostered with Dr. Shuffield will be contacted directly to enroll with Dr. Mousa. New patients will not be enrolled at this time.

If you do not have a family practitioner, you are encouraged to contact Healthcare Connect 1-800-445-1822 or www.ontario.ca/healthcareconnect.

Along with clinical practice, Dr. Mousa will also care for inpatients and work in the emergency department at the Wingham & District Hospital. Dr. Mousa brings a wealth of experience to our medical staff and we are very pleased to welcome him to our team. Dr. Mousa has been practicing family medicine in British Columbia in a similar size community and he and his wife Salwa Sokar, are looking forward to relocating to our community. Ms. Sokar is a pharmacist who will be transitioning her career to Wingham as well.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Mousa and Ms. Sokar to Wingham.
