New Hamburg woman facing multiple charges after traffic stop in Listowel

LISTOWEL – A New Hamburg woman is facing numerous charges after a traffic stop in Listowel last weekend.

According to a press release issued by Perth County OPP, an officer stopped the accused on Wallace Avenue North on Aug. 16 just before 8:30 p.m.

Police say the plates on the vehicle were not authorized for the vehicle. The driver was arrested, at which time police found methamphetamine and identity documents belonging to other people.

Police also say the driver was not licensed, nor was the vehicle insured.

The driver, 33-year-old Amanda Caskenette of New Hamburg, has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine; three counts of possession of an identity document; drive motor vehicle, no licence; operate a motor vehicle without insurance, and; use plate not authorized for vehicle.

Caskenette has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
