Despite holding a 2-1 lead well into the second period, the Walkerton Capitals finished Game 5 of the first round of playoffs, and the hockey season, with a 5-2 loss to the Mount Forest Patriots on Sunday, March 2 in Walkerton. This round of playoffs proved to be thrilling, with four games won by a single goal, two of them in overtime, prior to the decisive Mount Forest victory in the fifth and final game of the series.
