HUNTSVILLE – On Jan. 19, members of the Huntsville detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist with the location of a missing 45-year-old male. The male was last known to be in the Hoodstown Shores Road area of Huntsville, Ont.
Members of the Huntsville Fire Department and OPP specialty units assisted uniformed investigators in the search for the missing man. At approximately 11:40 a.m. on Jan. 20, police located the missing person deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Casey Bast of North Perth.
It has been reported that the death isn’t being investigated as suspicious, according to Huntsville OPP Const. Jeff Handsor. Handsor said that the body was recovered from the water.
A post mortem has been ordered by the Coroner and investigators will continue the investigation under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner.
