After hosting what organizers called an extremely successful event, The Mildmay 2023 Homecoming Committee was, at its own request, dissolved during the Feb. 11 South Bruce Council Meeting.

According to a previous release, the AMDSB Centre for Employment and Learning is no longer providing employment services as of Feb. 1.

Council here passed their capital and operating budgets in principle Feb. 4 and 6, an action which was underscored by significant deliberation on where taxpayer money will land in municipal projects and assets during 2025.

South Bruce’s three-member Recreation Team, including Manager of Recreation and Facilities Shawnette Crouse and Councillors Ron Schnurr and Mike Niesen, was set during the municipal council’s Feb. 11 meeting.

The continuing process of creating and possibly implementing development charges has been put on hold as South Bruce Council members consider options for the controversial issue.

Many Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) schools provide space for licensed childcare providers to offer before and after school services to families.

A report from Director of Fire and Emergency Management Chad Kregar informed council here that the department was successful in its grant application to the provincial Fire Protection Grant Program.

Council here approved delaying the opening of both Mildmay Carrick Swim Pool (MCSP) and Teeswater Culross Swim Pool (TCSP) by two weeks until June 16, 2025, as well as the closure of the pools on Sundays for public swims moving forward.
