LISTOWEL-WINGHAM – With the provincial stay-at-home order lifted, the Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance (LWHA) has updated its visitors’ guidelines, effective June 3.
Inpatients will be able to identify one person as their visitor. The designated visitor will be able to schedule daily visits. Visits must be prescheduled with the hospital screening staff to ensure the safety of staff and patients.
Visiting will be restricted to the patient’s room, with no access to common areas. Visitors must pass the screening questions and will be required to wear a mask at all times while in the hospital.
Patients in COVID isolation will not be permitted visitor presence.
LWHA notes that visitors will not be permitted to accompany patients to the emergency department or outpatient appointments unless requested by hospital staff.
Hospital cafeterias remain closed to visitors for dine-in service at this time. Visitors will not be permitted to dine with patients in their rooms.
“We thank the community for their understanding during the difficult times when visiting was not permitted to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and the community,” stated hospital officials in a press release.
LWHA asks that you do not visit a patient if you are not feeling well, and to follow all public health guidelines for COVID-related symptoms.
