Listowel resident facing multiple assault charges

LISTOWEL – A Listowel resident is facing multiple charges following an investigation by Perth County OPP.

On Aug. 1, just after 4:30 p.m., police responded to a report of vandalism and assaults with a weapon against two victims. Police say these incidents occurred sometime between July 25 and Aug. 1 in North Perth.

While this incident was under investigation, police say the suspect committed two more assaults with a weapon in the early morning of Aug. 2 by spraying the victims with an aerosol spray.

Charged is James Gallan, 31, of Listowel. Gallan is charged with four counts of assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Stratford court at a later date to answer to the charges.
