Listowel Curling Club President Rhonda Donegan and General Manager Laurie Nuhn, have lined up a number of exciting events for the clubs 70 year anniversary. The festivities will commemorate the past, present and future of the seven decade year old club; adding to the longevity for years to come. Staying in the same theme as the Brier or the Scotties, the club coined the opening night festivities; The Listowel Patch, which included live music, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and selection of gourmet in house snacks. Celebrations continue at the clubhouse on Oct. 24, with 70 ends of continuous curling, starting at 9 .am. through 9 p.m. Following up this unique event is the club bonspiel, ‘Curling through the Decades’ on Nov. 7.
