Dear Editor;
On January 26 nearly 200 people partook in the annual Robbie Burns Night hosted by the Fergus Scottish Festival. After a less than satisfying 2012, the Festival was delighted to see so many join us at this event. The Festival wishes to thank the following for their generosity or hard work in making the event happen: Freshco, Goofie Newfie Bar and Grill, O’Briens Tap House, Fergus Scottish Corner Shop, Pennywise Books and More, I Love Chocolate, Fergus Pipe Band, Grand Celtic Pipe Band, Men with Small Pipes, Cogeco, and The Grand 92.9. Additionally the following donated services to ensure the event was profitable: Nick Gush, Janice Howie, David Lamble, Graham Dalziel, Ross Beattie, Bill & Gloria Longshaw, and Don Dewar . As with the Festival, there were many behind the scenes volunteers too. Thank you to the committee, the Boy Scouts, Jamie, Jesse, Brandon, Rowan and Keifer. It was thanks to these people we were able to raise $4,600 to help continue the Festival. The event could not have happened if it was not for Jackie Greig and her wonderful kitchen staff. Our next fundraising event is a Bonspiel on March 30th at the Fergus Curling Club, for details or to register contact the Festival office at 519-787-0099.
Thank you to all for your support.
