The Last Mayor of Rusty River offers a unique-to-small-towns view of community politics according to reviewer Patrick Raftis. The play features an established Reeve portrayed by seasoned actor Benedict Campbell, while young councillors, portrayed by Huron County native Cameron Laurie and Hallie Seline, attempt to dethrone the mayor by running a feline candidate for office.
