Lang running for deputy mayor

BROCKTON – Coun. James Lang has decided to throw his hat in the ring and announced his decision to run for the position of deputy mayor in Brockton.

Lang said in a brief interview May 2 that he feels he has the right qualifications and background for the position.

“It’s time for new leadership in the deputy mayor role,” he said.

The unofficial list of candidates in Brockton indicates that as of press time, Lang was the only candidate for the position of deputy mayor.

Tim Elphick is the only candidate for councillor so far.

Two individuals have filed papers for the Egnlish seperate school board trustee  contest: Lori Di Castri (Kincardine) and Linda Strader (Walkerton).

Eric Lapointe (Barrie) is the lone individual to file for the French public school board trustee contest.

Nominations for the municipal election close Aug. 22.
