PERTH COUNTY – Coun. Daryl Herlick’s resignation of his seat on the Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) board was formally accepted at the Perth County council meeting on Feb. 18.
After becoming a founding member of the ‘End the Lockdowns National Caucus’, Herlick decided to resign his seat on the HPPH board.
“The right thing for me to do is step down,” he told the Listowel Banner in a text on Feb. 16. “Health units are taking lots of heat … it’s not nice.”
Coun. Todd Kasenberg, mayor of North Perth, who had shown interest in serving on the board in December but stepped aside to allow Herlick to take the seat, was asked if he would still like to sit on the board.
“I am willing; certainly it is a busy role, but I am willing if it is council’s wish,” he said.
Council unanimously passed a motion to accept Herlick’s resignation and place Kasenberg on the Public Health board.
