HURON-PERTH – The spike of confirmed positive cases across Huron-Perth in August has tapered off, with Huron Perth Public Health reporting on Sept. 3 that the total number of cases remains at 120 with zero active cases.
Four asymptomatic cases in health care workers were announced earlier this week, but follow up investigation showed no evidence of transmission and the previous positive result in these health care workers were deemed to be either a prior infection or a false positive. There is no increased risk to the community from these cases.
With the return to classrooms for students almost here, Dr. Mariam Klassen, Huron Perth’s medical officer of health, will be hosting a Facebook Live event to help keep residents informed of new health and safety protocols.
The event, Return to School, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m.
Klassen will be answering questions from the residents of Huron-Perth, which can be sent in ahead of time through the Huron Perth Public Health Facebook or Twitter accounts (either as a public comment or private message). Questions can also be asked on Facebook during the event.
The event will be available at https://www.facebook.com/HuronPerthPublicHealth.
