Howick Township man allegedly gives police fake name, facing multiple charges

LISTOWEL – A Howick Township man is facing criminal and traffic charges after allegedly misleading police during a recent investigation.

In a press release, Perth County OPP say that just before 12:30 p.m. on July 10, officers stopped a truck pulling a trailer after it pulled into a business on Mitchell Rd. S. in Listowel.

Police say the driver verbally identified themselves, but the name turned out to be fake.

The driver, 35-year-old Joshua Crawford of Howick Township, was arrested and charged with:

  • public mischief;
  • driving while under suspension; and,
  • operate a motor vehicle without insurance.

Crawford is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
