Guelph resident charged following stabbing incident

NORTH PERTH – One person was charged after a victim was stabbed in the Municipality of North Perth last week.

On Sept. 6 just after 10:30 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police and Perth County Paramedic Services responded to an address on Perth Road 164, just north of Listowel, after receiving a report of an injured person. One person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One person was arrested at the scene, and during the arrest, a police officer was assaulted.

The officer was not injured as a result of the assault.

Christine Wynen-Brown, 23, of Guelph, has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault with intent to resist arrest. The accused was held custody pending a bail hearing.
