Federal offender arrested in Walkerton

WALKERTON – A federal offender who had been unlawfully at large was apprehended in Walkerton on Sept. 27 on a Canada-wide warrant.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad has advised that Aaron Marshall was located and arrested by the Peel Regional Police Service, with the assistance of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Emergency Response Team.

Marshall, 34, had been serving a five-year sentence for drug possession and trafficking offences, as well as firearms possession offences. The warrant was issued for a breach of statutory release.

Media had been advised Marshall had connections in a number of communities in the Grey-Bruce area including Walkerton.
